All wheels are designed differently. The design and finish of a wheel drastically changes how easy or difficult it is to clean. This is why sometimes wheel cleaners work and sometimes they don't.
Two things remain true regardless of the wheel design and finish though.
- Hard to reach areas like the inner barrels of wheels will almost never be cleaned properly without a good brush.
- Even with good wheel cleaning formulas (including HotLap) you have to touch the wheel at some point to really finish it, whether that's with a brush or a towel after the wash.
And here's the real important piece... dirty inner barrels that are visible, or just unclean wheels in general, are the main reason cars tend to look used and dull. You may not notice at first, but clean wheels and barrels (and dressed tires) is what differentiates a dull pedestrian vehicle from a beautiful ride.
Absolutely. Not these ones though. These are ultra soft.
And even though some wheel brushes use harsh material, take comfort knowing that most clear coats and finishes are much more durable than the coat on your car. Making them harder to scratch noticeably.
